Quick Guide for a Smooth Recording Session on Riverside

Disrupt Davao Studio Riverside

We’re thrilled to have you join us and share your journey with our audience. To ensure we capture our conversation with the highest quality, we’ve chosen Riverside.fm as our recording tool. Riverside.fm is renowned for its ability to produce studio-quality recordings, even remotely.

Here’s how you can prepare for a seamless recording experience: (or watch quick guide video here…)

1. Browser Setup:

  • Please use Google Chrome, as it offers the best compatibility with Riverside.fm. If you haven’t installed Chrome yet, you can download it for free for either your laptop or desktop.

  • Restart Chrome before our session to ensure it’s fresh and running optimally. Remember to close all tabs except for Riverside.fm, and avoid using incognito mode for this session.

2. Internet Connection:

  • A solid internet connection is crucial. We recommend using an ethernet cable for the most stable connection. If you’re on Wi-Fi, that’s okay too, just make sure to check your speed.

  • Aim for at least 5 Mbps upload and download speed. You can check this by doing a quick internet speed test online.

  • Close any programs you won’t need during our interview, especially those that use the internet, like email or cloud storage services. If you’re using a VPN, consider disabling it temporarily to avoid any potential lag.

3. Notifications and Distractions:

  • To avoid interruptions, please turn off all notifications and set your devices to “Do Not Disturb” mode. This helps prevent unexpected noises from being picked up by your microphone.

4. Joining the Session:

  • You’ll receive a unique link from us to join the recording session on Riverside.fm. Clicking this link will take you to the virtual “green room.”

  • If it’s your first time using Riverside, you’ll be prompted to allow access to your microphone and camera. Simply click “Request Camera Permissions” and then “Allow” when prompted.

  • Choose the correct microphone and camera from the dropdown menu, especially if you’re using external devices, to ensure the best audio and video quality.

5. Audio and Video Setup:

  • Before joining the main session, you’ll have a chance to adjust your audio and video settings. This is the perfect time to select the right devices and test everything is working correctly.

  • We highly recommend using headphones to improve audio quality and reduce feedback or echo during the recording.

6. After Recording:

  • Please don’t rush off once we’ve finished recording. Wait until you see a confirmation that your recordings have successfully uploaded. This ensures we don’t miss a single word of our conversation.

  • If you experience any issues with uploading, you can manually upload your recordings at riverside.fm/upload.
